About Dr Matseliso Gugushe

Dr Matseliso Gugushe (née Masithela) was born in New York, in the United States of America. She attended school in various countries and graduated high school at Waterford Kamhlaba, Swaziland of the United World Colleges, in 1992. She then moved on to assume The City College of New York (CCNY). In 1997, she transferred to the Xavier University of Louisiana, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. During her first degree, she received many accolades, such as being an honours student placed on the Dean's list. She also received the Howard Hughes Biomedical Superstar Award.

Dr Gugushe completed her Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) at the University of Limpopo-MEDUNSA Campus in 2005. She specialized in Diagnostic Radiology and was awarded her fellowship in Radiology from The Colleges Of Medicine Of South Africa (CMSA) in 2016.

After graduating, Dr Gugushe quickly went onto assume administrative, management, and academic responsibilities at the Pietersburg Tertiary Hospital, where she acted as Head of Clinical Unit from August 2017 until January 2019.

She is currently a specialist consultant working in the private sector with sessional work done in government at her former University.

Dr Gugushe has a special interest and passion for academic Radiology as well as Body Imaging and Women's Imaging.
